The tower scrolls sideways and you climb it one floor at a time. The catch is in the title: the button only moves you upward. Going down is not a choice you make, it is what happens when the floor beneath you runs out and a gap passes underneath.

Bamboo blocks the higher floors, skulls patrol them, and the whole stack accelerates. Climbing early is safe and slow; climbing late is how you stay ahead of the scroll.
